  • Franchise fees

Franchisees capitalize initial franchise fees as an intangible asset and amortize them over the franchise term.

    ASC 350-30

Tax Tax accounting · Internal Revenue Code

  • Credit for employer FICA on tips

  • Remodels and repairs

Interior improvements may be qualified improvement property; routine repairs may be deductible under the repair regulations.

    IRC §168(e)(6); Treas. Reg. §1.263(a)-3

  • Franchise costs

Franchise fees acquired are generally amortized over 15 years for tax.

The differences between the two are Schedule M-1 adjustments.
